2025 West Liberty Labor Day Festival
Grand Marshal Dorothy J. Stout
|
Dorothy J. Stout is honored to be recognized as the Grand Marshal for 2025 and feels privileged to enjoy it at 99 years of life. Dorothy has been married to her husband Jim for 57 years. She has a daughter, Shari, a son, Mark, and a daughter-in-law, Marion. Her granddaughter is Hannah (Dax) Brown. Dorothy has been a homemaker, worked 22 years as a cook at West Liberty-Salem elementary school, and organized real estate and seed business for her husband. She's been a member of the West Liberty United Methodist Church since 1953 and has loved gardening and antiques. Dorothy has lived in West Liberty since 1953 and she loves this nice quiet little town saying "it has everything one needs". When it comes to the Labor Day Festival she enjoys the parade, tractors, eating kettle corn and beef and noodles, and seeing the flea market booths and colorful mums. Dorothy has been a WL-S PTO parent, a member of the Church Women's Society, volunteered as a Sunday school teacher and delivered for Meals on Wheels. She's also the proud wife of a Lion's Club member. One piece of advice she would offer to younger generations would be to get a good education, and to obey and respect your parents. Dorothy feels so blessed to have good health and right mind and to be recognized as 2025 Lion's Club Grand Marshall.

2025 West Liberty Lions Club Lion of the Year
Tim Woodruff
|
Lions Club member Tim Woodruff feels it a great honor to be recognized for "service" to his club and community. Tim married his wife of 54 years, Joyce Good, on June 6, 1966. That same fall he started farming and milking cows with her mom and dad. He has lived in West Liberty for 26 years and his favorite things about the town are the friendly residents and their willingness to help others in need. Tim enjoys visiting with everyone at the Labor Day festival, some of whom live in other states but come back Labor Day weekend where they will see old friends. Over the years, Tim has been involved with the West Liberty Historical Society and in renovating the Town Hall and Opera House. One piece of advice Tim would offer the younger generation would be to learn from the good and bad my generation has done, then do your best to do better. Tim's favorite part of being a Lion's Club member is the fellowship of working with the other members.
Congrats Lion Tim! We appreciate you! |
